Welcome to Elim Salisbury
Elim Christian Centre is one of the hundreds of Elim Pentecostal churches throughout the UK, and many others across the world.
Why the name ELIM?
John Glass, our General Superintendent puts it like this –
‘Nearly a century ago our founders wanted the name of their new Movement to express their vision and values – and chose the name ‘ELIM’. This was the name of an oasis in the Bible that the people of Israel discovered as they wandered through the desert. It provided both shade and refreshment for all who encountered it. Our world can sometimes feel like a desert, and so our 21st century churches seek to be a place of spiritual resource within their communities.’
Salisbury Elim began over 80 years ago, in 1927. The Dews Road, former Methodist Church building was purchased in 1990 and the former leather factory next door was bought in 2001. Over the following 4 years it was converted into a centre for Community and family use
